Hampidjan award at Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition
The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition was opened formally by Minister of Fisheries Sigurður Ingi Jóhannesson yesterday. Later that same day awards were given to selected companies thought to have been outstanding in the field of the Icelandic fishing industry. Hampidjan was among the award winners and presented with a prize in the ‘Outstanding Icelandic Supplier – Catching’ category, a commendation of its achievements in service to the fishing fleet.
Hampidjan’s managing director Hjörtur Erlendsson received the prize on behalf of the company and commented that it is a true honour to know that the company’s achievements are recognised.
‘It’s a great commendation for us and at the same time it’s an encouragement to continue our efforts and to do even better in the future,’ he said, commenting that the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition is a key event for companies such as Hampidjan.
‘This isn’t just a sales opportunity, in the sense that this event provides us with a chance to meet longstanding customers and hopefully to establish new contacts that can be a benefit to both parties as time goes on. The exhibition has started well and our stand has been extremely busy during the first two days,’ Hjörtur Erlendsson said.
