- For Pelagic species

The High Opening GLORIA Midwater trawl was originally made to fish Red Fish in Irminger Sea out in the deep South-West of Iceland.

The GLORIA trawl has been steadily developed through the years and is still one of Hampidjans most successful nets. It can be manufactured in various types of materials like the well known PEPA and NYLEX ropes. Now the HELIX self-spreading rope has become the most popular rope, bringing cutting edge technology to the GLORIA trawl. The GLORIA trawl is still the biggest trawl successfully ever made and operated.

The trawl has been extremely successful fishing scattered fish like the Red Fish in Irminger Sea, Hake out of the West coast of USA and Canada as well as down deep in the Bering Sea and in the Golf around Kodiak fishing Alaska Pollock. The trawl is now in use all over the world and ranges the whole scale in trawl sizes from 300m trawls up the 3600 meters Giant onboard 4000 hp trawler Enniberg from Faro Islands.
